Ralph Norman Buswell, 72, a lifelong resident of Marblehead, died September 4, 2005, at Salem Hospital. He was the husband of the late Marcia (Messervey) Buswell, with whom he had shared 37 years of marriage.
Born in Marblehead, November 15, 1932, he was the son of the late Norman W. and Abbie (Sinclair) Buswell. Mr. Buswell was raised in Marblehead and graduated from Marblehead High School, Class of 1950.
In 1952, he entered the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was stationed in Thule Air Force Base in Greenland and was honorably discharged in 1956. Prior to his service in the Air Force, he was involved locally with the Naval Reserves.
After his service in the Air Force, Mr. Buswell continued his education and attended Franklin Technical Institute in Boston, where he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. He had been employed for several years as a control specialist with the former New England Power Co. in Salem. Mr. Buswell was a member of the Gerry 5 Veteran Fireman's Association of Marblehead, the Market Square Association and the local Elks.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Buswell of Marblehead; two brothers, Gary Buswell and Dana Buswell and his wife, JoAnne, all of Marblehead; his aunt, Beulah Kuell of Marblehead; and several nieces and nephew
