Kenneth G. Gasser, 83, of Payson, Utah, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. He was born April 29, 1931 in Payson, to Albert Henry and Hazel Gardner Gasser. He joined the United States Navy in March of 1951 and was honorably discharged in March of 1955.
Ken married JaNene Johnson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 26, 1957. They had just celebrated their 58th anniversary. Together they had 3 children; Ann, Niel and Kari.
He was employed by United States Steel and retired after 35 years. He was also employed by Muir-Roberts fruit packing plant for 27 years. He held many different positions in the LDS church and was a faithful home teacher with Reed Page as his companion. He loved golfing, fishing, hunting and watching the Utah Jazz. He took his family on many trips to their cabin at Strawberry Bay teaching them to love the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, JaNene, a son, Niel (Julie) Gasser, a daughter, Kari (Chad) Leonard, a son-in-law, Calvin Wall, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, a sister, Rhea (Clair) Darling, and a sister-in-law, Rosalie Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ralph, 2 sisters, Fern and Marie, a daughter, Ann and a granddaughter Angi.
